As a mild to moderate cold wave was sweeping over parts of the country, the Chuadanga area recorded the nation's lowest temperature on Saturday morning, 8.7 degrees Celsius.
The Chuadanga Weather Observatory Center's acting in-charge, Jaminur Rahman, reported that at 9 am on Saturday, the temperature was 8.7 degrees Celsius.
The temperature may drop even further, he added.
People's everyday lives were disturbed by the bitter cold, particularly those of the district's daily wage labourers.
The sun doesn't come out until 12 pm.
Because of the weather, many are being forced to stay indoors.
