Bangladesh Sanatan Jagaran Mancha Spokesperson and head of Pundarik Dham Chinmoy Krishna Das was taken into custody by the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday.
Additional Commissioner of DB, Rezaul Karim Mallik, confirmed the detention, saying that it was based on a requisition related to a complaint.
He said that Chinmoy Krishna would be handed over to the related police station.
The DB official did not disclose specific details about the complaint against him.
The Sanatan Jagaran Mancha organized a rally in Chattogram on 25 October under the leadership of Chinmoy Krishna. BNP leader Firoz Khan filed a case against Chinmoy, accusing him of dishonoring the national flag at the programme.
The organisation recently held another programme in Rangpur.
