In the next 48 hours, this low pressure system is predicted to proceed towards the coast of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu.

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast that a low-pressure area is likely to develop over the southwest Bay of Bengal and adjacent areas within the next 36 hours, according to the 72-hour weather forecast issued on Monday midnight.

In the next 48 hours, this low pressure system is predicted to proceed towards the coast of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu.

As per Met office, Bangladesh's weather is expected to remain mostly dry over the next 24 hours, with partly cloudy skies in some areas.

Temperatures are predicted to remain rather constant during the day and at night during the period.

Similar weather conditions for the following 48 hours will prevail, with minimum variation in temperature levels, the meteorological office also predicted.

Over the following five days, however, a gradual fall in nighttime temperatures is anticipated.
