Rains likely to drench Bangladesh for 7 more days: BMD

A low pressure area is likely to form over Bangladesh and adjoining North Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has predicted that rains may continue across the country till 10 October.

“Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely at most places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and  Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places over the country commencing 9am on Thursday,” said a met office bulletin on Thursday (3 October).

A low pressure area is likely to form over Bangladesh and the adjoining North Bay of Bengal during next 24 hours, it said.

Monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over North Bay and it trough runs through Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across central part of Bangladesh.

Day and night temperature may fall by (2-4)°C over the country.
