At the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025, vivo announced the establishment of its Robotics Lab and introduced its first mixed reality (MR) headset, vivo Vision.
The event also featured the unveiling of the vivo X200 Ultra, designated as the Official Smartphone of the forum, along with advancements in 6G technology and the Blue Technology Matrix, which includes BlueImage, BlueLM, BlueOS, BlueChip, and BlueVolt, reads a press release.
During the "vivo Release Moment" session, Hu Baishan, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and President of the vivo Central Research Institute, delivered a keynote address titled "Humanity in the Future of Technology by vivo." He highlighted vivo’s three-decade-long journey, emphasizing its human-centered approach, long-term vision, and commitment to collaboration. He noted that vivo has been China’s leading domestic smartphone brand for four consecutive years, serving over 500 million users across more than 60 countries and regions.
Hu described the mobile phone industry as a hub for technological breakthroughs, especially in AI and robotics. He emphasized the potential of smartphones to bridge the digital and physical realms, paving the way for the next generation of intelligent devices.
To realize this vision, vivo officially launched its Robotics Lab, focusing on the development of the "brain" and "eyes" of robots using the company’s expertise in AI and spatial computing. Unlike industrial robotics, vivo aims to innovate personal and home-use robotic solutions that enhance daily life. "We are committed to bringing robotics out of research labs and into real-world applications to address consumer needs," Hu stated.
vivo also debuted vivo Vision, its first mixed reality headset, showcasing advancements in imaging technology, AI, and real-time spatial computing to deliver an immersive digital experience.
Hu announced that the vivo X200 Ultra, which integrates vivo’s latest imaging innovations, will launch next month. He outlined the company’s vision of a future where smartphones, AI, and robotics work seamlessly together to enrich everyday life.
Reaffirming vivo’s dedication to technological advancement, Hu highlighted ongoing investments in BlueTech, 6G, AI, and mixed reality. He emphasized the company’s goal of collaborating with industry partners to bring intelligent robotics into households worldwide, shaping a future where technology serves humanity in meaningful ways.
