The EMK Centre has unveiled the EMK Small Grant 2025, an annual initiative designed to empower changemakers across Bangladesh by funding innovative projects aimed at addressing pressing social challenges.

This programme, which emphasises collaboration between the United States and Bangladesh, is open to individuals, groups, and organisations with visionary proposals.

The grant programme, offering between Tk2-5 lakh per project, focuses on five pivotal themes:

Democratic Values: Supporting projects that promote human rights, civil society engagement, press freedom, disability inclusion, and good governance.
Economic Empowerment: Funding initiatives to foster entrepreneurship, uplift underserved communities and youth, and enhance U.S.-Bangladesh trade prospects.

Environmental Sustainability: Backing community-driven solutions to combat climate change and enhance youth awareness.

STEM Education: Encouraging STEM access for historically marginalised groups, including indigenous communities and religious minorities.

Arts and Culture: Celebrating local heritage, empowering emerging artists, and promoting cultural diversity.

Application and Selection Process

Applications are being accepted exclusively online from 1 December 2024 to 15 January 2025 via emkcenter.org. Late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.

Selected applicants will participate in a final pitch session to present their ideas and negotiate budgets. The winners will be announced in February 2025, with project implementation set to commence immediately and run through August 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Non-Profit Organisations: Including registered community organisations, cultural groups, and foundations.

Individuals and Groups: Visionaries with the capacity to lead transformative initiatives.

However, projects involving partisan politics, construction activities, fundraising campaigns, religious promotion, or lobbying will not be eligible for consideration.
