Islami Andolan Bangladesh submits reform opinions to Consensus Commission

Islami Andolan Bangladesh today submitted its opinions on reform proposals to the National Consensus Commission.

Chief Adviser's Special Assistant Monir Haider was present during the submission of the opinions. 

Besides, Islami Andolan Bangladesh presidium member Professor Ali Akan, joint secretary general Engineer Ashraful Alam and assistant secretary general Ahmed Abdul Kaium, among others, were also present.

The commission identified the crucial recommendations made in the reports of five reform commissions - the constitution reform commission, the public administration reform commission, the electoral system reform commission, the judiciary reform commission and the ACC reform commission and sought opinions from the political parties.

Later, the commission sent a set of recommendations in a spreadsheet format to 38 political parties asking them to send their specific opinions on the important reform recommendations by 13 March.

With the one party, a total of 32 political parties have already submitted their respective opinions to the Consensus Commission.

The National Consensus Commission began formal dialogue on 20 March to finalize the recommendations made by the reform commissions.

The commission has already held discussions with the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Khelafat Majlis, Bangladesh Labor Party, Rashtra Sanskar Andolan, Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party, Nagorik Oikya, Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh and Gono Odhikar Parishad.
