Bangladesh Bank has announced revised banking hours for the holy month of Ramadan, adjusting both transaction and office timings.
According to a circular issued on Monday by the Department of Offsite Supervision (DOS), banks will operate from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, with transaction hours set from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, from Sunday to Thursday. Friday and Saturday will remain weekly holidays.
The circular further mentioned that there will be a Zohar prayer break from 1:15 pm to 1:30 pm, but bank transactions can continue during this period through internal coordination.
Under normal circumstances, bank transactions run from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, while office hours extend from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. However, during Ramadan, the central bank adjusts these hours to accommodate religious observances.
Following the conclusion of Ramadan, banking hours will revert to their regular schedule, as stated in the circular.
