A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight en route to Dubai was forced to make an emergency landing at Nagpur Airport in Maharashtra, India, on 19 February due to a technical issue, officials confirmed today.
Flight BG-347, which departed from Dhaka at 8:53pm with 395 passengers and 12 crew members on board, encountered a technical signal around 10:45pm, prompting the captain to divert to Nagpur for an emergency landing.
Bosra Islam, General Manager of Public Relations at Biman Bangladesh Airlines, told media that the aircraft landed safely at approximately midnight.
All passengers were provided with necessary support and assistance at the airport.
To facilitate their onward journey, Biman dispatched another Boeing 777 from Dhaka at 10:45am today. The replacement aircraft arrived in Nagpur at 12:39pm before departing for Dubai.
The airline has apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers and assured that all necessary measures were taken to ensure their safety and comfort.
