Police have recovered the dead body of Zajira Police Station Officer-in-charge Al Amin, hanging from the ceiling of his office residence.
The body was discovered on the third floor of the police station building, inside his personal quarters at around 1pm on Thursday (9 January), local police said.
Shariatpur superintendent of police said the officer appears to have taken his own life in his official residence.
The authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
