The International Crimes Tribunal has issued arrest warrants against Sheikh Hasina and 11 others in connection with cases of enforced disappearances during the 15-year tenure of the Awami League government.
The tribunal, comprising a two-member bench led by Justice Golam Mortuza Mojumdar, passed the order following a petition from the prosecution on Monday (6 January).
Besides Sheikh Hasina, arrest warrants have been issued against former defence adviser Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, and the former inspector general of police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed, among others.
