Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus and members of the advisory council joined the Namaz-e-Janaza of Adviser A. F. Hassan Ariff after Esha prayers at Dhanmondi 7 mosque in the city.
Earlier, the Chief Adviser expressed deep shock at the death of Adviser Hassan Ariff. Prof. Yunus learnt the news of adviser Hassan Ariff's death as soon as a plane carrying him from Dubai landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport late this afternoon. He later rushed to Labaid Hospital in Dhanmondi from the airport to pay last respects to the late adviser.
A senior lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court, Hassan Ariff died of a massive cardiac arrest at 3.35pm on Friday at the city’s Labaid hospital. He was 85.
He was the Attorney General of Bangladesh from October 2001 to April 2005.
