The planned Foreign Secretary-level Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) between Bangladesh and India will be held in Dhaka on December 9 or 10, said Foreign Adviser Md Touhid Hosain.
He came up with the disclosure while talking to reporters at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday afternoon.
"It is very clear that we want a good relationship (with India)," said Touhid Hosain.
The foreign adviser, however, stressed that Bangladesh-India ties must be built on a mutual basis.
"Both sides need to want that and should work for it," he added.
The FOC might be held on December 9 despite having schedul for December 10, he said.
The foreign adviser mentioned that Bangladesh Foreign Secretary Md Jashim Uddin and Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri will lead their respective delegations during the high-level consultation.
A range of bilateral issues - the potential extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, currently in India, and visa-related matters - are expected to cover in the discussions.
