The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced its decision to republish the preliminary results of the 46th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination.
In a press release issued on Monday, the BPSC stated that the preliminary results, originally published on 9 May 2024, declared 10,638 candidates eligible for the written examinations. However, the commission has now decided to reevaluate and republish the results to include an equal number of additional candidates, alongside those already selected, to address potential discrepancies and ensure fairness.
The release also mentioned that allegations of question leaks in the 44th, 45th, and 46th BCS exams, as well as other non-cadre exams, were thoroughly discussed in meetings chaired by the newly appointed chairman and eight commission members. Following these deliberations, the commission took steps to enhance transparency, fairness, and neutrality in the examination process.
As per the 46th BCS circular, a total of 3,140 officials will be recruited through this BCS. The recruitment includes 1,682 assistant surgeons and 16 assistant dental surgeons in the health cadre, and 520 positions in the education cadre.
