Md Motiur Rahman Sheikh, additional inspector general of police, has joined the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) as its chief.
Earlier, Motiur was promoted to additional inspector general of police from a deputy inspector general in the CID.
The government has appointed him as the chief of the agency following his promotion.
To this end, the Home Ministry issued a gazette notification on Wednesday (16 October).
