This morning’s light rain brought relief from the heatwave for city dwellers.
The rain began around 11:00am in different parts of the capital city.
According to sources, rain was reported in Banglamotor, Mirpur, Karwan Bazar, Gulshan, Banani, Niketan and other several areas of Dhaka.
The capital Dhaka witnessed sunny morning. However, the sudden rain brought some relief in the city life as people were waiting for a little rain to get rid of the heat of last few days.
Meanwhile, Dr Abul Kalam Mallik, a meteorologist of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) told BSS that rainfall may occur over southern parts of the country from Sunday and other parts will also experience rainfall from September 23.
“Almost the entire country may witness rainfall meaning heat wave will not prevail in the country due to the influence of rainfall,” he added.
Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over the country, according to weather bulletin issued by BMD here today.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy falls at places over the country.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the bulletin added.
