Amidst a world beset by multiple crises, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has called for a greener, more resilient and sustainable future built on the pillars of knowledge, innovation and technology.

Delivering his remarks on Tuesday (22 April) at the Earthna Summit in Qatar’s capital, Doha, Yunus stressed the moral imperative of leaving behind a better world for the next generation—one that ensures universal sustainability.

“We must not abandon the youth of today, who are the rightful inheritors of this planet,” he said.

Reflecting on his own experience, he added, “I have witnessed the transformative power of civic awakening among young people, driven by inclusion and empowerment.”

Earlier, upon his arrival in Qatar, Yunus received a red-carpet welcome.

He was formally greeted by Ibrahim Fakhro, Qatar’s chief of protocol and ambassador.

According to a statement from the chief adviser’s press wing, Professor Yunus is visiting Doha at the invitation of Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

In addition to participating in the summit, a significant meeting between the Emir and Professor Yunus is also likely to take place.
