Palestinian National and Islamic Forces have announced a worldwide strike to be observed on Monday (7 April) in protest against Israel’s ongoing military offensive and mass killings in Gaza.
According to a report by Middle East Eye, citing the Palestinian news agency Wafa, the coalition has urged people across the globe to take part in the strike as a gesture of solidarity and resistance.
In a joint statement, the group called for the atrocities and relentless Israeli bombardment in Gaza to be brought to the attention of the international community.
It emphasised the need for concerted pressure—both local and international—to halt the conflict, and demanded accountability for what it described as the systematic destruction of Gaza and the violation of Palestinian rights.
Palestinian National and Islamic Forces represent a significant coalition engaged in the country's liberation struggle.
The alliance recognises imprisoned Palestinian leader Marwan Barghouti as its guiding figure.
Meanwhile, Al Jazeera reported that 43 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes throughout Sunday alone.
Since the conflict began in October 2023, over 50,000 Palestinians have been killed, according to the latest estimates.
Israel has carried out repeated strikes against unarmed civilians on a near-daily basis.
Citing UNICEF, the BBC reported earlier this week that more than 300 children have been killed in Israeli attacks in the past fortnight alone.
