A series of devastating wildfires have swept across Los Angeles, California, destroying approximately 10,000 homes, vehicles, and various other structures. At least ten people have tragically lost their lives in the infernos.

Authorities have ordered the evacuation of 180,000 residents from the affected areas, with warnings issued to a further 200,000 individuals to remain on high alert for potential evacuation instructions, reports Al Jazeera.

Multiple wildfires are currently active in Los Angeles, with a new blaze named Kenneth emerging in West Hill on Thursday.

This fire is suspected to have been deliberately ignited, leading to the arrest of one individual in connection with the incident. The Palisades and Eaton fires, which began their rampage on Tuesday, have already caused significant devastation.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass expressed concerns over the high winds exacerbating the spread of the newly ignited fire.

Both the Palisades and Eaton fires have obliterated 5,000 structures each, including homes, vehicles, and sheds. In total, these fires have scorched approximately 30,000 acres of land.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna, during a press conference, warned that the death toll is expected to rise.

"It appears as if a nuclear bomb has been dropped in the area," Luna stated, adding that he does not anticipate any positive news and fears the number of fatalities will increase.
