BNP welcomes China's continued support amidst current geopolitical climate

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has confirmed that China will maintain its support for Bangladesh, emphasizing the significance of the recent meeting with the Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen

China's commitment to supporting the people of Bangladesh will remain steadfast, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

"China will continue its historical commitment to the people of Bangladesh," he said following a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Wednesday (21 August).

Mirza Fakhrul asserted that China has pledged to support Bangladesh in its current geopolitical context and will uphold its previous promises.

Regarding economic cooperation, Fakhrul praised China’s financial aid to Bangladesh and other developing countries, expressing confidence that such support will continue in the future.

He also noted that China views the current situation as an opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the Bangladesh Nationalist Party and the Chinese Communist Party, expressing hope for a more robust and sincere relationship with China.

The meeting was also attended by BNP’s National Standing Committee members, including Dr Moyeen Khan and Dr Khondokar Mosharraf Hossain.
