A case has been filed against Sheikh Hasina and 15 others in connection with the death of Zobaid Hossain Imon, a fourth-grade student at Darunnajat Islamia Madrasa in Mohammadpur, Dhaka.
The case was lodged by the victim's uncle, Abdullah Abu Said Bhuiyan, at the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury in Dhaka on Thursday (15 August)
Imon was killed when a bullet, allegedly fired from a RAB helicopter struck him.

After recording the plaintiff's statement, the court directed Mohammadpur police to register the case as a formal complaint.
The other accused include former ministers Obaidul Quader, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Anisul Huq, Tajul Islam, Jahangir Kabir Nanak, Hasan Mahmud, Md Arafat and Sheikh Hasina's adviser Salman F Rahman, MP Mustafa Jalal Mohiuddin, former Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun, former RAB Director General Harun-ur-Rashid, DMP Commissioner Habibur Rahman, former Additional IGP Dr K Mahid Uddin, former head of the Detective Branch Harun-ur-Rashid, and Joint Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarkar.
Additionally, unnamed members of the RAB helicopter patrol team and their commanding officers have been listed as anonymous defendants in the case.
The plaintiff alleged that Imon joined a peaceful student movement against discrimination and aligned himself with the general students. The defendants are accused of ordering the use of lethal force against unarmed students, with specific instructions to shoot on sight, resulting in the fatal incident on 19 July when RAB personnel allegedly opened fire from a helicopter near the Allah Karim Mosque in Mohammadpur.
A bullet entered Imon's head and exited through his jaw, causing his immediate death.
This is the third murder case and the fourth criminal case filed against Sheikh Hasina in the Dhaka courts.
