Three people, including a child, have gone missing after a boat capsised while crossing the Surma River in the Azampur area of Dowarabazar, Sunamganj.
All three missing individuals are residents of the Azampur Ashrayan Project, said Dowarabazar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Neher Nigar Tanu on Tuesday (2 July).
Locals say the accident took place around 11am, when a small boat was caught in a strong current while crossing the Surma River.
The boatman managed to swim to safety, but two women and a child went missing.
Their identities are yet to be determined.
