Bangladesh will observe one-day state mourning on Thursday showing respect to Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi who died in a tragic helicopter crash on Monday.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard on Tuesday.

As a mark of respect, the national flag will be kept at half-mast at all government, semi-government and autonomous institutions, and missions abroad, it said.

Special prayers will be offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the country’s foreign minister and others were found dead Monday hours after their helicopter crashed in a foggy, mountainous region of the country’s northwest.
