Russia to hire Bangladeshi skilled shipbuilding workers

State Minister for Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury said that Russia has expressed interest to recruit Bangladesh's skilled manpower in its shipbuilding industry.

The minister made the disclosure while talking to the journalists after a courtesy meeting with a delegation of Russia's Levadia Shipyard at the ministry on Sunday (24 March).

Reiterating Bangladesh's long-standing friendly relationship with Russia, the state minister said the ties between the two countries will be strengthened further by sending manpower to Russia.

The state minister also said apart from shipbuilding industry, Russia wants to hire experienced manpower in various fields, including agriculture. In the first phase, they want to employ 60 workers and later they will gradually hire more skilled manpower.

The company has confirmed that the workers will avail of accommodation and language learning facilities.
