Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has invited Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus to visit Pakistan at his convenience, expressing confidence in a promising future for Bangladesh-Pakistan relations.

During a telephone conversation on Monday (31 March), Shehbaz extended the invitation and reaffirmed his government's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.

The Pakistan premier shared details of the call in a post on X, stating that he had a "pleasant telephone conversation" with Yunus, during which they exchanged Eid ul Fitr greetings and discussed closer cooperation between the two nations.

Shehbaz also noted that Pakistan is looking forward to a visit by Bangladesh's deputy prime minister or foreign minister, accompanied by a trade delegation, on 22 April.

Additionally, the Pakistan premier extended an invitation for a Bangladeshi cultural troupe to visit Pakistan, specifically mentioning the renowned singer Runa Laila.

"The future looks bright for Pakistan-Bangladesh ties, Inshallah," he wrote.
