Fitra rates announced for this year: Minimum Tk110, maximum Tk2,805 per person

Islamic Foundation has set this year’s Fitra in Bangladesh at a minimum of Tk110 and a maximum of Tk2,805 per person, slightly adjusted from last year’s figures

The Islamic Foundation has announced the Zakat al-Fitr (Fitra) rate for Bangladesh for the year 1446 Hijri, setting the minimum amount at Tk110 and the maximum at Tk2,805 per person.

The decision was finalised on Tuesday (11 March), during a meeting of the National Sadaqatul Fitr Determination Committee, held at the Islamic Foundation's conference room in Baitul Mukarram, Dhaka.

Last year, the minimum Fitrana was set at Tk115, while the maximum stood at Tk2,970.

The meeting was presided over by the chairman of the committee and Khatib of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, Mufti Maulana Abdul Malek.

Several committee members and eminent Islamic scholars were present at the discussion.

Following the meeting, the committee chairman briefed journalists on the newly determined rates.
