US President Donald Trump has expressed concern that a third world war is imminent but assured that under his leadership, such a catastrophe will be avoided.
Speaking at a conference in Miami on Thursday (20 February), the former US president cautioned that the world is not far from global conflict.
"We are not far from it. I am telling you, it is not far. If that administration [Biden government] had remained for another year, you would have been in the midst of a third world war. But now, it will not happen," he declared, as reported by NDTV.
Trump emphasised that the United States would not partake in such wars but would instead focus on halting them.
"We are going to put an end to these foolish, endless wars. We will not be a part of them. However, we will be stronger than anyone. And if a war ever begins, there will be no one who can come close to us. But we do not think it will ever happen," he stated.
