The newly appointed CEC and the four commissioners will formally take their oaths on Sunday (24 November).
Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed is scheduled to administer the oath-taking ceremony.
Earlier, on Thursday, 21 November, the Cabinet Division issued an official gazette confirming the appointment of AMM Nasir Uddin as the chief election commissioner.
A separate gazette notification detailed the appointments of the four election commissioners.
The newly appointed election commissioners are:
- Retired Additional Secretary Md. Anwarul Islam Sarkar
- Retired District and Sessions Judge Abdur Rahmanel Masud
- Retired Joint Secretary Begum Tahmida Ahmed
- Retired Brigadier General Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah
Formation of a new EC marks a significant step forward, following the Search Committee's deliberations and proposals.
The new team is expected to oversee upcoming electoral responsibilities with diligence and impartiality.
