Noted essayist, researcher, literary critic, and social analyst Abul Quasem Fazlul Huq has been appointed as the president of the Bangla Academy for the next three years by the interim government.

The Ministry of Cultural Affairs recently issued an official notification regarding the appointment.

According to the notification, in line with the Bangla Academy Act, Abul Quasem Fazlul Huq, recognised as a prominent intellectual, essayist, and distinguished researcher, has been appointed as president of the Bangla Academy for a period of three years, effective from the date he assumes his duties, and subject to specific terms and conditions.

It was stated that his responsibilities as president, along with all other associated functions, will be governed by the provisions outlined in the Bangla Academy Act, 2013.
