Veteran politician Matia Chowdhury has passed away at the age of 76.
She died at around 11am on Wednesday (16 October) while undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital, said her uncle, former minister Mustafa Jamal Haider.
Renowned for her fiery speeches and notable contributions to the Awami League, Matia Chowdhury served as the minister of agriculture and was a prominent member of AL's presidium.
