Reforms and election preparations will progress concurrently, said Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus during a national dialogue on Friday (27 December).

He stated, "Neither reforms without unity nor elections without reforms are feasible."

The two-day national dialogue, centred on unity, reforms, and elections, commenced at the Krishibid Institution in Khamarbari, Dhaka, with the Chief Adviser participating virtually.

In his opening remarks, Yunus expressed deep reverence for those who had valiantly resisted fascism, particularly acknowledging the student and civilian martyrs of the July uprising.

“Our debt to those who were injured, lost their vision, or suffered amputations is immeasurable. Their inspiration and contributions towards building a new Bangladesh will never be forgotten,” he remarked.

Reflecting on the recent transformations in Bangladesh, Yunus said, “Through this public uprising, we have secured the right to enter a transformative phase for our nation. To execute this transition seamlessly, we must commit all our energy and resources. Consensus on reforms is essential among us.”
