After an eight-day closure due to Eid-ul-Azha, Hili Land Port has resumed export-import activities between Bangladesh and India.

Indian trucks carrying imported goods entered the port on Saturday afternoon marking the recommencement of operations.

Harun Ur Rashid, President of the Hili Land Port Importers and Exporters Group, said the port had been inactive from June 14 to 21 due to the Eid holiday.

He confirmed that normal port activities resumed today with several Indian trucks carrying imported goods arriving at the Hili Land Port. This has resulted in increased activity among stakeholders.

Sohrab Hossein Mallik, Communication Officer at Panama Hili Port Link Limited, a private operator of the port, said several trucks from India entered the warehouse area of the port after 12 pm.

"We have expedited the clearance of imported goods to ensure that businessmen can collect their consignments promptly after paying the government duties," he mentioned.
