The Camon series from Tecno is known for its unique designs and good cameras. Camon 30, the new addition to this series has been launched recently in Bangladesh.

This new model aims to provide strong camera performance at a reasonable price. Now the question is can Camon 30 fulfill the expectations of the users? Let’s find out what the phone has got within.

Key Features of Tecno Camon 30
Design
The Tecno Camon 30 features a "Nature Flow Texture Glass" design on the back, combining a grainy matte and glossy finish. This design draws inspiration from natural textures like the Uyuni salt flats and Iceland's volcanic lava. The back of the phone includes a rounded camera setup with a fluted bezel on the sides, giving it a premium appearance. The LED flash module is placed outside and adjacent to the camera setup.

The phone also features a red indicator light on the top left at the back, which signals multiple functions such as AI (Ella) or IR activation, incoming calls, and charging status. The handset dimensions are 165.37 mm by 75.93 mm by 7.83mm, making it easy to handle with one hand, although it weighs 199g, which might feel heavy. The build quality is sturdy.

The power and volume buttons are on the right side of the phone, while the SIM card slot is on the left. The bottom of the phone houses the USB Type-C charging port and speaker grille, and the top includes an IR blaster.

Display
The Tecno Camon 30 has a 6.78-inch FHD AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,436 by 1,080 pixels. It features a hole-punch design and supports a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The display has thin side bezels for an immersive viewing experience. With a peak brightness of 1300 nits, the screen remains visible under direct sunlight.

The display may appear slightly oversaturated but provides inky blacks and vibrant colors due to the AMOLED panel. The high refresh rate ensures smooth navigation within the UI and apps. The phone offers decent viewing angles.

Cameras
The Tecno Camon 30 features a 50 MP primary camera with a 1/1.57-inch sensor size and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The primary camera is supported by a 2MP depth sensor and a light sensor, along with dual flash support for enhanced low-light photography.

The camera emphasizes color accuracy, capturing realistic skin tones and natural colors without boosting. It offers detailed shots, especially in the 100MP mode, and stable videos with OIS, though some shake is noticeable in handheld shots. In low-light conditions, the primary camera performs well, aided by Super Night mode, which further improves image quality.

The front camera is a 50MP ultra-clear sensor with AutoFocus and Dual Colour Temperature Flash, featuring advanced eye-tracking support. It captures detailed selfies and performs reliably for frequent selfie-takers and vloggers.

Performance and Hardware
The Tecno Camon 30 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate chipset. While not the most powerful in its price range, it adequately handles regular tasks and light gaming. In benchmarks, the phone scored 513,359 on AnTuTu 915 (single-core) and 2,253 (multi-core) on Geekbench.

During usage, the phone showed no major hiccups, lag, or app crashes. For gaming, it supports up to HD – High settings in BGMI, which is lower than some competitors offering Ultra HDR settings.

The Camon 30 runs on Android 14-based HiOS. Key features include Dynamic Port, Floating Windows, MemFusion (virtual RAM), Smart Panel, Smart Hub, App Twin, and Kids Mode. The AI assistant, Ella, can be accessed via voice or by long-pressing the power button, though it showed inconsistencies in response. HiOS provides a clean interface with few pre-installed apps, and navigation is smooth.

The company promises 3 years of software and security updates.

Battery and Charger
The Tecno Camon 30 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and supports 70W fast charging.

In testing, the phone charged from 20 percent to 100 percent in approximately 46 minutes. The battery provides around 7-8 hours of screen-on time and lasts 11 hours and 10 minutes in the PCMark battery test. For regular usage, the phone can easily last beyond a day.
