A madrasa teacher has been arrested for allegedly raping four students in Chatkhil upazila of Noakhali.
The teacher is Saiful Islam (26), the son of Ibrahim Khalil from Shankarpur village in the upazila. He serves as a teacher at Al-Faruk Academy Madrasha.
Police took Ibrahim into custody on Thursday and presented him before the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Ibrahim allegedly molested four students, aged between 10 to 12 years, for several months within the madrasa. The matter came to light when the victimized students confided in their families.
“A mother of one of the victims filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act. We have presented him to a judicial court following his arrest,” stated Imdadul Haque, officer-in-charge of Chatkhil Police Station.
