Nearly 276 Myanmar soldiers, carrying arms and ammunition, have crossed the Mizoram-Myanmar-Bangladesh border trijunction, seeking refuge in India.

Over the past two days, these military personnel entered Mizoram as conflict persists between rebel forces in Myanmar and the ruling junta, as reported by NDTV.

The soldiers fled to India after their camps fell under the control of Arakan Army (AA) militants, an ethnic armed group in the western Myanmar state of Rakhine.  They are currently being sheltered in an Assam Rifles camp.

This development follows the recent takeover of a town bordering India and Bangladesh by the Arakan Army, marking another setback for the military government as it grapples with rebellion across the nation. The total count of Myanmar soldiers seeking refuge in India since November 13 has now reached 636.
