Myanmar's junta on Tuesday extended a ceasefire declared after last month's devastating earthquake to 30 April.

The extension was to help "continue the rebuilding and rehabilitation process" after the 7.7-magnitude quake which killed more than 3,700 and left tens of thousands living in tents, the junta information team said in a statement.
