On 22 April 1993, the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum was formally dedicated in Washington, DC, in a ceremony attended by President Bill Clinton, Holocaust survivors, and international dignitaries.
Located near the National Mall, the museum serves as a living memorial to the six million Jews murdered during the Holocaust, as well as millions of other victims persecuted by the Nazi regime.
Its mission is to educate, commemorate, and challenge future generations to confront hatred, genocide, and indifference.
