NNASA has confirmed the scheduled return of astronauts from the International Space Station (ISS) after a nine-month mission, with SpaceX’s Crew-10 spacecraft having arrived to facilitate their journey back to Earth.
The astronauts are expected to land off the coast of Florida at 5:57pm local time on Tuesday (4am Bangladesh time on Wednesday).
NASA announced the precise timing of their return in a statement issued on Sunday night (16 March), adding that the landing process would be broadcast live.
The live coverage of their return will commence on Monday at 8:45am Bangladesh time and will be available on NASA’s official website and social media platforms.
SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft arrived at the ISS on Sunday morning to bring the astronauts back.
Before their departure, the returning team officially transferred their responsibilities to four incoming astronauts who will now oversee the station’s operations.
The newly arrived crew comprises NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nicole Ayers, Japan’s Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) representative Takuya Onishi, and Russia’s Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov.
Returning to Earth alongside Sunita and Butch are NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Alexander Gorbunov.
