The government has announced a Value-Added Tax (VAT) exemption on several essential products at both the production and trading levels, effective until 30 June 2025.
The Internal Resources Division of the Finance Ministry issued a notification regarding the decision on Monday.
As per the notification, rapeseed oil, colza seed oil, and canola oil will be exempt from VAT at the production stage until the specified deadline. Additionally, mustard oil will receive a permanent VAT exemption at the production stage.
Several locally produced items will also be exempt from VAT at the business level, including biscuits, salt, flour, semolina, chili powder, coriander, turmeric, ginger, rice bran oil, sunflower oil, rapeseed oil, colza seed oil, canola oil, and pulses or similar food grains.
