Holy month of Ramadan begins Sunday

With this declaration, Muslims across the country will begin a month of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection

The holy month of Ramadan will commence on Sunday, 2 March, following the sighting of the crescent moon in the skies over Bangladesh on Saturday.

The National Moon Sighting Committee, led by Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain, confirmed the sighting and announced the official start of Ramadan during a meeting at the Islamic Foundation in Dhaka.

With this declaration, Muslims across the country will begin a month of fasting, prayer, and spiritual reflection.

Additionally, the holy night of Shab-e-Qadr, a night of immense religious significance, will be observed on Thursday, 27 March. This sacred occasion is a time for increased devotion and prayer.
