CA departs for World Government Summit in Dubai

Professor Yunus is expected to engage in bilateral meetings with heads of state and government on the sidelines of the summit

Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus left for Dubai on Wednesday evening to attend the World Government Summit 2025. His flight departed Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 7:45pm.

The summit, hosted by the UAE under the patronage of Vice President and Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is a premier global platform for sharing governance experiences and fostering innovation.

According to Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mohammad Rafiqul Alam, Professor Yunus is expected to engage in bilateral meetings with heads of state and government on the sidelines of the summit. “During the summit, the Honorable Chief Adviser is also likely to hold courtesy meetings with political and business leaders attending the event,” Alam stated during a recent media briefing.

The invitation to the summit was extended to Professor Yunus through a formal letter from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on 13 January 2025.

The World Government Summit, established in 2013, brings together policymakers, thought leaders, international organizations, and private sector representatives from over 140 countries. Over the past decade, it has served as a forum for collaborative discussions aimed at shaping a brighter and more sustainable global future.

Prof Yunus is scheduled to return home on 14 February.
