In a bid to maintain law and order, four platoons of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) have been deployed at various locations in Dhaka, including Shahbagh, Matsya Bhaban, and the Hotel Intercontinental area.

A press release from BGB HQ on Tuesday (26 November) stated that the deployment aims to normalise the law-and-order situation in these critical zones of the capital.

Earlier, on Monday, six platoons of BGB were deployed in the Jatrabari-Demra area to control unrest following clashes between students of Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul College, and Dr Mahbubur Rahman Molla College.

The clashes had raised concerns about public safety and necessitated a swift response from the authorities.

Deployment of BGB highlights the gravity of the situation and the government’s commitment to ensuring peace and order in the capital.
