The image of a Royal Enfield motorbike instantly conjures up thoughts of heritage and royalty. That prestigious bike is now available in the Bangladeshi market, attracting a massive number of potential buyers who lined up at the Tejgaon showroom in the capital to place their pre-orders.

Reports indicate that the pre-order process for Royal Enfield began on Tuesday (22 October) at 10am at the Tejgaon showroom in Dhaka. To avoid the anticipated rush, many customers arrived as early as 3am and started queuing.

A visit to the showroom revealed a queue extending 100 metres, reaching as far as the TVS motorcycle showroom. All these customers were eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of the coveted motorcycles and secure their pre-orders.

Inside the showroom, staff members were struggling to handle the volume of pre-bookings.

A security officer at the showroom confirmed that those who successfully pre-ordered earlier in the morning had been standing in line since 3am.

One of the buyers, who managed to place his pre-order, said, "I arrived here at 9:40am, but I could only enter the showroom around 1:30pm and finally complete my pre-order. My one-year-long wait to pre-order my dream bike has come to an end today."

As of now, officials from Ifad Motors Limited, the manufacturer and distributor of Royal Enfield in Bangladesh, could not confirm the exact number of pre-orders received.

One official mentioned, "Many customers have pre-ordered online, while others have come in person to pay in cash today. As a result, we are all extremely busy, and it's difficult to provide the exact figures at this moment." The pre-booking fee has been set at Tk25,000.

On Monday afternoon, an event was held at the Royal Enfield showroom in Tejgaon, marking the launch of pre-orders for four different models of the motorbike. The showroom was also inaugurated at the same event. The price range for the four models in the Bangladeshi market is set between Tk3.40 lakh and Tk4.35 lakh. Iftekhar Ahmed, Chairman of Ifad Group, was present at the event.
