Nine more deaths were reported from dengue in 24 hours till Saturday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With the latest death toll, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh rose to 210 this year. Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue.

A total of 915 more patients were hospitalised with the viral fever in the preceding 24 hours across the country, it said.

Of them, 175 dengue patients were admitted in hospital under Dhaka North City Corporation while 156 were hospitalised in Dhaka South City Corporation.

The rest, 584, were outside the capital.

Some 3,651 patients are receiving treatment in different hospitals across the country.

Since January 1, 2024, a total of 41,810 dengue cases have been reported.
