Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur has announced the formation of a fund worth Tk800–900 crore, dedicated exclusively to providing capital support for new entrepreneurs.
He made the disclosure on Monday (7 April), during a seminar on the opening day of a four-day investment summit aimed at attracting foreign investment.
The central bank governor stated that the capital assistance would be distributed through commercial banks, with a formal circular to be issued shortly.
Describing Bangladesh as a viable destination not only for trade but also for investment, the governor remarked: “Ninety-five percent of start-ups fail. They do not succeed. Yet we continue to support them. One day, success will come.”
