Reducing inflation to a tolerable level will take at least one year, Bangladesh Bank Governor Ahsan H Mansur stated on Thursday (12 December).
He made these remarks during a seminar organised by BRAC EPL at a hotel in Dhaka.
The governor projected that inflation would decrease to 7% by June 2024 and further drop to 5% in the next fiscal year.
Addressing the soaring prices of essentials like potatoes and onions, he attributed the rise to production delays caused by floods in August and September, which hampered timely agricultural yields.
