BGB recovers smuggled items worth over Tk19 Lakh at Feni border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized smuggled goods including cannabis, sarees, three-piece suits, lehengas, and medicines, with an estimated value of Tk19,38,750 in an operation along the border of Feni's Parshuram and Chhagolnaiya upazilas.

The BGB’s Feni Battalion (4 BGB) issued a press release on Saturday (22 February) afternoon, informing the media about the operation.

According to the press release, the seizure took place on Saturday in border areas near Ketranga, Jashpur in Parshuram, and Chhagolnaiya BOP during an anti-smuggling operation.

The seized items included 78 kg of Indian cannabis, sarees, three-piece suits, lehengas, and various medicines. The approximate market value of the seized goods is Tk19,38,750. The seized drugs are being handed over to the Narcotics Control Department, while the other goods are being deposited at the local customs office.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, Commander of BGB Feni Battalion (4 BGB), stated that the process of handing over the seized goods to the local customs and narcotics control authorities is ongoing.
