Chief adviser and UAE minister discuss bilateral cooperation

During a meeting at the World Government Summit in Dubai, the UAE’s health minister expressed admiration for Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus, underscoring Bangladesh’s pivotal role on the global stage

United Arab Emirates' Minister of Health Abdul Rahman bin Mohamed Al Owais met Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Thursday (13 February) on the sidelines of the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai, where he lauded Yunus' leadership and Bangladesh’s presence at the prestigious gathering.

Expressing appreciation for Yunus’ participation, Al Owais remarked that his presence had elevated the summit, said a press release from the CA's Press Wing.

"We learn from people like you," he said, as they engaged in discussions on various aspects of the forum.

The minister emphasised that the WGS draws insights from distinguished figures worldwide and acknowledged the significance of Bangladesh’s representation.

Al Owais also commended Yunus for leading Bangladesh at a pivotal juncture in its history, voicing optimism that relations between the two nations would deepen under the Interim Government.

He expressed hope for an expansion of bilateral cooperation in trade, business, and healthcare.

In response, Yunus praised the UAE's strides in healthcare and disease prevention, acknowledging its remarkable progress in the sector.

He also extended gratitude to the Gulf nation for hosting over a million Bangladeshi expatriates.

The meeting was attended by Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain, along with Lutfey Siddiqi, CA's special envoy and Lamiya Morshed, a senior secretary and the chief SDG coordinator of the interim government.
