In a significant move to advance sustainable development and strengthen environmental oversight, the Department of Environment (DoE) under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today at the Bangladesh Secretariat.

Central to the partnership is the commitment to build institutional capacity, thereby enhancing regulatory enforcement and climate resilience across both urban and rural areas, released a press report.

Key areas of cooperation include the creation of tools and guidelines for environmental sustainability, pollution control, and ecosystem restoration, all aligned with both national and international standards. The MoU also envisions the exploration of innovative solutions and technologies in sectors like renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and climate-smart practices, ensuring that tailored approaches meet local needs effectively.
