Maulana Mamunur Haque, ameer of the Islamic Khelafat Majlish, has cautioned that the people of Bangladesh will not forgive the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islami if internal disputes allow the ousted Awami League to regain power.

He said this during a mass rally at the Central Shaheed Minar in Patuakhali on Thursday.

Mamunur urged all parties to remain united like the time of the anti-fascist movement that ousted the Awami League on 5 August last.

Addressing the importance of Islamic principles in governing the country, he urged the chief adviser to hold a fair and neutral election excluding the fascist Awami League.

Chaired by the district unit president of the party Maulna Abbas Ali, central and local leaders spoke on the occasion.
